Privacy and Voice Data

This policy explains what Soothe Love keeps, why we need it, and how you can delete it.

What we collect

• Account email, sign-in credentials, consent records, and referral history.
• Source Recordings personally authorized by up to two adult voice owners, the Voice Profiles derived from them, requested story text, and Generated Narration.
• Basic security, error, and usage records such as time, IP address, browser type, and generation status.
• An optional adult-managed story recipient profile containing only a made-up nickname and broad age range.

A Voice Profile may be biometric information because it is derived from a voice recording and linked to one person. We treat the Source Recording and Voice Profile as sensitive personal data.

Why we use it

We use your data only to sign you in, create narration you request, perform quality checks, provide support, prevent abuse, keep the service secure, operate referrals, and comply with law. Collection and access are limited to what those purposes reasonably need.

What we never do with raw voice data

We never sell, rent, give away, or use a Source Recording or Voice Profile for advertising. We never use Source Recordings, Voice Profiles, or Generated Narration to train or fine-tune a model. If Soothe Love is sold or reorganized, raw Source Recordings will not transfer unless the voice owner first gives clear permission; otherwise they will be deleted.

Limited human access

Authorized personnel may access only the voice data needed for generation, quality assurance, support, security, or legal compliance. Each access must use an audited tool that records who accessed what, when, and why.

How long we keep data

• Source Recordings and Voice Profiles stay while your account is active, until you replace or delete them.
• Generated Narration stays while your account is active, until you delete voice data or the account.
• Story recipient profiles stay until you remove them or delete the account.
• Used and expired magic links and routine rate-limit records are removed on a rolling 30-day schedule.
• Security and audited-access records are kept for up to 12 months unless a longer period is needed for an active investigation or law.
• Data deleted from the active service may remain in encrypted, restricted backups for up to 90 days, then expires through backup rotation.

We may keep a small record that a consent or deletion request occurred when needed to honor the request or comply with law. That record does not include the Source Recording.

Children and family use

Soothe Love is a general-audience service for adults. We do not knowingly collect voice recordings or account data directly from children under 13, and we do not accept any child’s voice. An adult account holder may create a story recipient profile using a made-up nickname and broad age range. Do not submit a child’s full or legal name, exact birth date, contact details, location, photo, voice, or other identifying data. If we learn that prohibited child data was submitted, we will stop processing and delete it.

Who helps operate the service

Cloudflare provides secure connectivity and edge protection and may process network traffic, including Source Recordings uploaded through the service. Resend sends account email and does not receive Source Recordings for voice generation. A private Synology server stores application data. A locally operated Qwen worker creates narration. Service providers may use data only for the specific work we give them and must protect it.

Your choices and California rights

Signed-in users can export account metadata and the Source Recordings managed by the account, delete voice data, or ask us to correct or delete an account. A voice owner may also contact [email protected] about their own recording. Generated Narration is Soothe Love content licensed under the Terms and may not be included as a downloadable file in a personal-data export. California residents may also ask what personal data we hold, how it is used, and who receives it, and may exercise applicable rights without discrimination.

Deleting voice data withdraws active voice consent, removes Source Recordings, Voice Profiles, previews, and Generated Narration from the active service, and blocks new generation. Restricted backup copies may remain for up to 90 days as described above. Copies you already lawfully saved outside the service are not retrieved from your device and remain governed by the Terms. Email [email protected] for an account request; we may verify that you control the account.

Security and changes

We use encrypted connections, scoped credentials, private storage, and separation between the web service and Qwen worker. No system is perfectly secure. We will investigate incidents and provide notices required by law. Material policy changes will be shown in the service or sent by email before they apply.
