Privacy and Voice Data

This policy explains how SootheLove, operated in California, handles information in its early-access family narration service.
Information we collect
- Account email, display name, authentication credentials, consent records, and referral attribution.
- Adult voice recordings, derived voice profiles, story text, generated narration, and generation status.
- Security, error, and basic product-usage events, including IP address and browser information supplied with web requests.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, generate requested narration, provide credits and referrals, secure and troubleshoot the service, respond to requests, and comply with law. We never sell, rent, or resell voice data, and never use voice recordings, derived voice profiles, or generated narration to train or fine-tune any model. Aggregate metrics that do not contain voice data may be used to improve inference settings and service reliability.
Voice data and retention
Raw voice recordings, derived profiles, and generated audio are currently retained while your account is active so previews can be produced and replayed. You may request deletion at any time. Deleted production data may remain in restricted backups until those backups expire under the applicable backup schedule. We will publish a shorter automatic retention schedule before expanding beyond early access.
Children
Accounts and submitted voices are limited to adults. SootheLove is used by adults to make audio for their families and does not knowingly collect voice recordings from children under 13. Do not upload a child’s voice.
Service providers
We use service providers only as needed to operate SootheLove: Cloudflare for DNS, secure connectivity, and edge security; Resend for transactional email; private Synology-hosted storage and application services; and locally operated Qwen-based generation tools. Providers process information under their own terms and only for the operational purpose supplied to them.
Disclosure
We may disclose information to service providers, to comply with valid legal process, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer with notice and appropriate safeguards. We do not sell or rent voice data.
Limited operational access
Authorized personnel may access the minimum voice data needed for support, quality assurance, safety, abuse investigation, or technical triage. Operational access must use an audited tool that records the operator, reason, object, and time. Voice data is not accessed for advertising, resale, or model training.
Your choices
Signed-in users can download an archive of their account and voice data, or permanently delete source recordings, voice profiles, and generated previews and generated stories. Deleting all voice data also withdraws active voice consent. Email [email protected] to correct data or request full account deletion. We may verify your identity before completing a request. You can stop promotional messages through their unsubscribe control; essential account and security email may still be sent.
Security
We use encrypted transport, scoped access, restricted secrets, and separation between the web service and generation worker. No system is perfectly secure. We will investigate incidents and provide notices required by law.
International use
SootheLove is operated in the United States. If you use it elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States, subject to applicable safeguards.
Changes and contact
Material changes will be posted or sent by email and apply prospectively. Contact [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.
